Early twentieth century diamond and sapphire bar brooch by Krementz

From James Alfredson a beautiful early twentieth century bar brooch, from America, exquisitely executed. These little pins are so small and can easily be overlooked, but they are miniature treasures.

Described by James Alfredson as follows:  “The delicate foliate style bar brooch is millegrain rim set with four royal blue French cut sapphires alternating with three grain set transition cut diamonds all box set along the top of the platinum topped mount above a finely pierced gallery, the brooch fastened by a yellow gold pin and concealed safety catch signed Krementz.”

Krementz jewellers on the outskirts of New York were noted for their fine gem and enamel flower brooches, in particular in the early twentieth century.
