From the fabulous blog of artist, curator and connoisseur Alain Truong, comes this note on a pair of sapphire clips and bangle combination by Cartier. It’s a combination not seen so often as others, but provides wonderful versatility and opportunities for adaptable use.
The jewelry was offered for sale by Sotheby’s at their Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels two session auction in Geneva, on 16 May 2017.
The two images show the clips detached from the bangle and ready to pop onto a dress or jacket, and attached to the bangle, perhaps awaiting a glamorous evening occasion.
The piece was certainly appreciated – achieving more than twice the higher estimate of price.
