Three Diamond Rings At Sotheby’s June 2017 Auction In London…
Exploring what’s on offer at Sotheby’s Fine Jewels London auction, scheduled for 7 June 2017 is a lot of fun. As well as rings featuring coloured gems, there are also several sparkly rings where diamonds play the major part, and the colour and ‘fire’comes from the rainbow flashes of diamonds dispersing white light.
We’ve selected three diamond rings to look at more closely.
A diamond ring by Boucheron.
A line of baguette diamonds is set in gold, between two lines of brilliant-cut diamonds. As the image below shows, these lines continue right the way around the ring. The ring is by Boucheron, a French firm established in 1858. The company expanded into London and New York at the turn of the century. In 1962, the firm passed into the hands of Alain Boucheron, a 4th generation Boucheron jeweler. Maison Boucheron still continues to produce highly valued jewelry, operating from the Place Vendome in Paris, with several Boucheron Boutiques and many Official Distributors across the world.
Ring size is M, it is signed Boucheron and numbered, and it has French assay and maker’s marks. Price estimate is 2,000 — 3,000 GBP.
You’ll find two more diamond rings on the next page.
