Carved Rock Crystal Brooches From Vienna
These three Austrian brooches from the 1950s are so beautifully and delicately carved… almost like the swaying skirts of ballgowns as Viennese waltzes play on. Well, we mustn’t become maudlin or fanciful. Let’s just get on with the jewelry!
Here are the three pieces grouped together as they’re shown on the Romanov Russia website. At the time of writing, a couple of them are still for sale. We’ll look at them each in turn further below.
This beautiful single bloom brooch below is SOLD.
It is a finely carved 1950s rock crystal flower brooch, mounted in 14K white gold and embellished with rubies and diamonds.
Marked with Austrian assay mark, 585 gold standard and maker’s mark, its width is a substantial 73 mm (2 7/8 in.)
